Women Mentoring Women
Here at Redeemer, we are passionate about discipleship. Passionate about mentoring women of all different ages and stages of life. We desire to equip women to come alongside younger women so that the younger women, when ready, might train up the next generation of women. This passion and commitment has not changed—just the title of the program has. “Spiritual Mothering,” our former Women’s Ministries mentoring program, has now prayerfully decided to partner with the on-going discipleship ministry, Starting Point. The Women’s Ministries team has watched this ministry naturally grow as many Spiritual Mothers continue to mentor now via Starting Point. This process of change is still in transition, just as the women’s mentoring program has always been growing and evolving in a natural and healthy way. The Women’s Ministries team feels that this transition will be beneficial both to the mentor (by giving more direction) and the mentee, who will have a well-trained mentor.
If you are interested in mentoring a woman to grow in her love of Christ, her knowledge of God’s Word, and help her live out her faith in her daily life, then we would love to talk with you. Or, if you are the one who is interested in being mentored, then we’d also love to talk with you and pair you up with an older, more spiritually mature woman.
For more information, contact Kim. A. (414) 427-1474. You can also contact Pastor Bob at (414) 541-5580.

Engage Milwaukee Recap
"Engage Milwaukee" was a wonderful day of fellowship with other women of Redeemer and a few others who were brought by friends. We were able to really be challenged by Natalie Bartelme regarding “Our Glorious Calling!” We looked at Matthew 28:16-20, The Great Commission. One challenge Natalie gave, which I was reminded of by a friend today, was to reach out to others and “Do it Afraid”. This is a reminder that there are times when we will be afraid to do something God calls us to do; but, sometimes we must willingly to do so no matter how fearful we may be. Another quote that was really meaningful to me was “Your mission field is between your two feet; your mission field is wherever your feet take you!” What a great challenge as we look at the “Great Commission” to go and make disciples by baptizing and teaching them about the gospel.
At the event, Jen Wojtysiak shared of her passion for the inner city of Milwaukee. We were surprised by some of the sobering statistics of Milwaukee. For example, Milwaukee is the second most segregated city in the U.S. Milwaukee also has the highest teen pregnancy rate and the average age of a homeless person in Milwaukee is 9 years old. Milwaukee really does need workers ready and willing to go out and share the gospel. Jen also introduced us to a number of people within Milwaukee. She told the story of Joseph, a homeless man who does not want to be forgotten. To not be forgotten is a very real fact in not just the homeless but in everyone we encounter. Jen challenged us to listen, reflect, pray and respond to God’s call!

The day was finished with prayer for the inner city and a “Milwaukee style” indoor tailgate lunch including traditional Wisconsin food (thanks to Jessica Demien) such as brats, cheese, and cream puffs. We received positive responses from everyone who attended and excited to see how God is going to be using the Women of Redeemer to reach out and impact our neighborhoods, work places, and families. Join us May 1st to learn a little more about Milwaukee on the Bus Tour and fellowship with other believers in the inner city. Visit the church website for more information.

Consider This...
What do you think about serving the moms of Redeemer and making a little extra money on the side, as well? The women's Tuesday morning Bible study is in need of another member of our important childcare team! This position is vital as it frees up moms of distractions and gives them the opportunity to enjoy fellowship and time in God's Word. Would you consider this? This would be Tuesday mornings and could be permanently or on a sub basis. If you know of someone, please feel free to pass this information along. For more details, please contact Kim , Bible Study Coordinator, at 414.427.1474.

Thanks, Tamara!
January ushered in a new year and the sad departure of our dear friend and women's ministries intern, Tamara Hamill. If you have been following this blog, her name and face should be familiar to you as she provided vital leadership to both the worship team and women's ministries. This Christmas we were blessed with her leading us in worship...one last time. (See enclosed picture).
To all who know her at Redeemer: we were blessed by her contagious love and passion for God, her heart's desire to live only for Him, her beautiful smile and singing, and her fun, playful spirit! To say she will be missed is an understatement. We miss her already.
Tamara and her husband Adam relocated to South Carolina where they both are pursuing their education. If you would like to keep in touch with Tamara you can do so by visiting her blog Watermarked One.

"Dear Tamara, thank you for sharing your gifts so generously and graciously with the Redeemer Church family! We pray and desire only God's best for you as you and Adam embark on this new exciting journey together! We can't wait to see how God uses you two. And, as you know, you are welcome 'home' anytime. We love you!"

A Woman's Touch
Today begins the transformation of the women's bathrooms at Redeemer Church! (Yes, we are a tad excited about this!) We have some nice feminine touches we think the women will like. With this said, we are in need of helping hands in the form of a volunteer team of painters. If you are free and available to paint this afternoon or evening, please call Kim A. (414.427.1474). If you have paint rollers to bring - please do. And if you can't assist today but would be willing to paint in the future, just let Kim know. Thanks!
