"It's a small world." Today I said the phrase and the song began endlessly circling through my head: "It's a small world after all, it's a small world...." (Stuck in your head now, too?) In the past few years, technology has shrunk our world like never before. Years ago waving goodbye to a loved one who was going on the mission field might mean never seeing them again, but today we have endless ways to communicate and even travel to see them. Not only is it easier to be involved in overseas missions, but because of the melting pot country we live in, the mission field has literally come to us. God has given us more ways to easily engage with the world than ever before. But what do we do now? With the world shrinking and becoming more "flat" every day, Women's Ministries has been asking the question: "How Can We Engage a Flat World For Jesus?" We plan to focus on this question in the upcoming months, discussing ways to reach around the world and across the street. We hope "It's a Small World" WILL get stuck in our heads, and help us take advantage of the opportunities God is giving us.
Our first women's ministries Flat World Event will be Friday, October 2nd at 6:30p.m. We'll be "Engaging Italy" by sharing an Italian dinner, hearing about the vision behind engaging a flat world for Christ and Natalie Bartelme sharing about the time recently spent with our missionary, Sarah Marie, and praying for a women's conference that will be held the next morning in Trieste, Italy! Plan now to join us for a memorable night and a taste of Italy! For more information and to sign up visit Activity Central or contact Tamara Hamill tamarahamill@gmail.com
